DESIGN DIRECTION
I AM GOING TO MOVE AWAY FROM JUST THE PROJECTION CONCEPTS AND CREATE A LAPTOP WITH HUMAN PRINCIPLES TO PROMOTE LOOKING AFTER IT, AND HOPEFULLY CHANGE THE FACT THAT LAPTOPS ARE SEEN AS JUST A MACHINE.

SENSORY DESIGN.. WHILE RESEARCHING I DISCOVERED THE ALREADY AVALIABLE POSSIBILITY FOR A 'CUBE' COMPUTER.
THE CUBE WOULD CONSIST OF AN INPUT PROJECTION AND A OUTPUT PROJECTION:
THE INPUT WOULD BE A VIRTUAL KEYBOARD / MOUSEPAD (OR BOTH) :
THE INPUT WOULD BE A VIRTUAL KEYBOARD / MOUSEPAD (OR BOTH) :
AND THE OUTPUT ( SCREEN WOULD BE A PROJECTION ONTO A SURFACE:
FOR EXAMPLE EVERY OFFICE DESK HAS A DIVIDED WALL: THIS COULD BE WHITE AND THE SURFACE FOR THE 'CUBE' PRJECTION.. MEANING ULTIMATE PORTABILITY WITHIN THE OFFICE.
( TECHNOLOGY CURRENTLY AVALIABLE FOR MOBILE PHONES- SO EASILY TRANSFERRABLE)
IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION FROM MY RESREACH THAT THE POSSBILITY OF CREATING A LAPTOP/PC CUBE IS MORE THAN A HOPEFULL THOUGHT BUT A POSSIBLE IDEA. I ALSO THINK THAT TO CREATE A PC CUBE WITH PORJECTION ABILITY AT A SIZE OF 5 INCHES X 5 INCHES IS ALSO WELL WITHIN THE POSSIBILITIES OF CURRENT TECHNOLOGY AND THE ONLY LIMITING FACTOR TO A SMALLER SIZE WOULD BE THE FINAL RETAIL PRICE FOR THE UNIT

Change Of Direction in my Design / Research
After continuous research into ways of making my laptop stand out i couldn't help but think 'its still just a laptop.. a machine' i have now decided to see how i could make the laptop seem more alive and less like a lifeless machine.

Golden Section Ratio
GOLDEN SECTION:
Golden section is a ratio law which creates a mathematic rule for what we perceive as beautiful. I am going to use golden section to try give my laptop the best chance possible as standing out from the rest. As it is well known that our eyes see everything, for example when we walk down the street we notice every shop and when asked could subconsciously state the colour of a sign in the window of a shop we did not previously notice. Whereas with our hearing we an only concentrate on one sound (like person talking) at a time. This shows the importance of making the laptop not on aesthetically pleasing but making it stand out from the rest. I aim to do this not only with the dimensions of the shell of my laptop ( for example it being 200mm x 323mm (1.618x20) but also with the design it contains.
